Tiffany and
Tabitha at our first dog show |
I acquired my first
Boxer
in 1996 for my birthday, her name was Tiffany. It was the best gift I
could have ever given to myself. Tiffany was a flashy fawn girl who I
fell in love with at first sight. I have learned so much since that day
and I am still learning 10 years later. My husband, Scott, a confirmed
"cat person" soon developed a love and passion for the breed as
well. (He even has his own two that will sneak into bed and snuggle
with him.)
Tiffany and I
together experienced the areas of exciting world of purebred dog
ownership. I have dabbled in conformation showing, and obedience. Over the years I continue to educate myself
about this wonderful breed. I have had a few dogs since Tiffany, but I
certainly owe my love of the breed and all that it can provide a family,
companionship, playmate, guardian, and a sort of court jester.
I have a small home
based kennel in Enid, Oklahoma, striving to improve the breed and produce
great loving companions. I carefully plan
every breeding, attempting to breed for quality vs. quantity. I believe that the overall health of the prospective
breeding stock should come first, I then concentrate on the beauty, the
brains and the brawn. The Boxer is a family loving dog that maintains
their playful puppy personalities for their whole life.
To learn more
about the breed, read about it at the American Kennel Club website
http://www.akc.org/breeds/boxers/index.cfm
or visit the American Boxer Club at
www.americanboxerclub.org
. As for books, I have found only one that gives detailed information on
what possible health issues to look for in the Boxer breed,
Boxers
from Animal Planet. When searching for any breed as a new member of
your family, it is important to research and learn as much as possible
about the breed, the good along with the bad.
Anyone

if I am not able to answer it, I will find someone who can.
